Important Message for Employees with Health Care Component Accounts

Health Care Employees who handle Protected Health Information (PHI) and are moving to the Human Resources or Finance Operations Center or Talent Acquisition Center of Expertise teams in late October and early November, will be receiving a new Google Workspace Account under their existing University InternetID. 

• The provisioning of a new account is part of University policy and in strict compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) boundary rules.
• HIPAA requires all Health Care Component (HCC/BAA) employees moving from a health care unit to a non-health care unit to have a clean break from the secure environment they currently work in.
• By provisioning a new account it will prevent PHI from crossing over into a non-secure environment. New accounts are not permitted to access PHI. 
• You will receive your new account on the first day of your new job. Communications will be sent in September to help prepare you for this upcoming change.
