Naomi Schaffhausen is usually the first person a University employee will meet when they call or email the Office of Human Resources Contact Center to ask about an extended leave of absence. Whether the leave is for a personal, medical, or military reason, navigating the logistics and paperwork of a long absence can be daunting. As the leave coordinator for OHR’s new, centralized Leave Administration team, Naomi tries to simplify the process for employees.

Bernard Gulachek is the vice president and chief information officer (VPCIO) for the University of Minnesota. In his role, he ensures the strategic and operational excellence of both academic and administrative information technology to support and advance all aspects of the mission.

As the new Senior Director and Chief Technology Officer, CJ Loosbrock will be directing strategic planning initiatives and establishing enterprise architecture objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources to align with the strategic plan. She will be establishing the technical vision and technology outlook for the future of the University, including enterprise-wide strategic technology infrastructure road-mapping and innovative technology strategies for an academic and research environment.

As Senior Director, IT Leads, Phoebe works with academic and support unit IT Leads to ensure that IT delivers consistent quality services systemwide. Phoebe joined OIT in October 2016 as our IT Service Architect and became the Senior Director for User Support in 2017.

Phoebe is an accomplished leader with over 13 years of experience in director-level positions within universities and academic medical centers. She is a skilled strategist and client services champion with experience building, leading and motivating teams.
